Our tour of the Pretoria Deeds Office.
April 2023 marked a significant shift for the Pretoria Deeds Office as it relocated to a new location. Since its inception at the new site, the office has sparked various discussions concerning its functional design and ease of access. As part of the Meyer Attorneys team, we recently had the opportunity to tour the new premises, and we are thrilled to share our experience.
This new Deeds Office is conveniently located within the National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Development’s premises in Berea Park, Pretoria. The first thing that strikes visitors is the strikingly unique façade of the building, which doubles as a testament to the architectural ingenuity of the area. It features laser-cut designs representing each of the nine provinces, thus encapsulating the department’s diverse focal points, including Deeds Registrations.
Complementing the architectural marvel are well-maintained vegetable gardens, adding a vibrant touch to the surroundings. The diligence of the gardeners, busily preparing new beds for planting, further adds to the site’s welcoming atmosphere.
As we entered the premises, we were greeted by the friendly security staff, who facilitated a smooth and efficient entry process. Our identifications were scanned promptly, security checks were swift, and we found ourselves inside in no time.
On the ground floor, we discovered the public access areas of the Deeds Office, characterised by a refreshing colour scheme of yellow, white, and green. The new workspace is ergonomically designed with all work areas on a single floor, promoting streamlined processes and ultimately, increased efficiency.
Of course, our visit wouldn’t have been complete without indulging in some of the on-site amenities. A stop at the coffee shop for barista-style coffee and a breakfast in the canteen marked the perfect start to our day. Throughout our visit, we were met with attentiveness and warm hospitality from all staff members.
